Colin Shenton, in a personal capacity, a heritage building restorer with 34 years experience.
Architect:
Purcell, the country’s pre-eminent heritage experts who have worked on Durham Cathedral, The Palace of Westminster, the National Portrait Gallery, Battersea Power Station, Canterbury Cathedral, the V&A, Manchester Town Hall and very many others.
Project Manager and Quantity Surveyors:
Thornton Firkin, specialists in assessing the true cost of heritage restoration and ensuring the smooth running of the Works, who have worked on Hylton Castle, Sunderland, Durham Cathedral, The Theatre Royal, Newcastle, Lincoln Cathedral and Auckland Castle among many others.
Structural Engineers & Building Surveyors:
Curtins, who work extensively with Historic England and have worked on the Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool, John Rylands Library, Manchester, and Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, among many others.
Building Surveyors:
Knight Frank are internationally renowned consultants and managers with unsurpassed experience in advising on properties such as Cuerden.
Planning and Heritage Consultants:
Paul Butler Associates. Paul is a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and has chaired its Ethics Committee. The firm has worked on Halle St Peters in Manchester, Salford Quays Dock Office, and many projects for Colin Shenton over a number of years.
Ecological, Arboricultural and Woodland Management Consultants:
Rachel Hacking Ecology is a specialist consultancy firm working with clients to fully assess the ecological bio-diversity of their project. The firm will assist Cuerden Hall with its ecological, arboricultural and woodland surveys.
Landscape Architect:
Tom Stuart-Smith is a highly accomplished landscape architect and garden designer, delivering projects in the UK and worldwide, including the Queen’s Jubilee garden at Windsor Castle, the Garden of Illusion at The Connaught Hotel, the Keeper’s House Garden at the Royal Academy of Arts, several projects at Chatsworth, and the masterplan for the RHS’s gardens at Bridgewater (near Salford), the largest new garden project in the UK.
Tom’s unique and distinguished style has won the highest accolades, including eight Chelsea Flower Show gold medals, three of which were also awarded ‘Best in Show’.
Measured Survey and Topographical Surveyors:
Land surveyors Site Scan have joined the team to provide an in depth measured survey, covering every inch of Cuerden Hall, down to the millimetre in every room. They also specialise in topographical surveys which will help us to understand the lay if the land.
Valuers:
Savills are highly respected international valuers, managers, and agents with expert knowledge in all of their fields, so with them aboard the team at Cuerden is a real asset.
